Anna's Hummingbird & Yellow Larkspur

Anna's Hummingbird is a year round resident of the Pacific Coast of North America with a range from southern British Columbia to northern Mexico. Like all hummingbirds, their long tongues are adapted to drinking nectar from plants with nectar spurs.
The Yellow Larkspur, like all Delphinium species, has nectar spurs which require long tongued pollinators like hummingbirds and moths. This beautiful flower only lives in coastal Sonoma County, CA and is listed as endangered. Only about 50 individuals are believed to exist as of 2000.

Both the Anna's Hummingbird and Yellow Larkspur are threatened by rising temperatures and increasing wildfires.
